Harris has introduced several new versions of its low power digital repeater, SPOT.
Harris introduced new versions of SPOT, a low power digital repeater at IBC2002.
The SPOT was introduced a year ago in a 3W version. This year there are 12.5, 25 and 50W variations. Unlike a simple repeater, which boosts an existing signal, the SPOT demodulates the incoming digital signal, performs error recovery, and then remodulates the bit stream. The output of the error recovery circuitry can be connected to a local remultiplexer, enabling insertion of local programming.
