Harris Joins Advanced Media Workflow Association
Harris Corporation has joined the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) to help promote solutions that increase efficiency in television broadcast workflow and content creation.
As a member of the AMWA, Harris will contribute its expertise with respect to SOA and other workflow advancements, as well as adopt standards that the AMWA develops. Harris is a leading provider of broadcast television software solutions that take advantage of the benefits of SOA computing. The Harris H-Class family of products—including the Invenio and Intelligent Media Mover digital asset management systems—employs the technology to provide users a platform that integrates all of the key processes comprising today’s broadcast, content creation and media distribution workflows.
Formerly known as the Advanced Authoring Format Association (AAF), the AMWA changed the name earlier this year to better reflect the organization’s broader mission to develop solutions for facilitating end-to-end, file-based workflows. One solution that the AMWA intends to refine and promote is the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) approach to streamlining file-based workflows, ranging from ingest and nonlinear editing to program delivery, automation and archive.
