Harris Broadcast and Pathfire recently signed a deal to integrate support of Pathfire's content distribution management products in the Harris Resource Suite (hrs) asset management system. After the integration is complete, Pathfire Digital Media Gateway automation and server systems will seamlessly share information with a Harris hrs to automate the receipt, preparation and movement of programming and metadata in a large facility.
Once combined, a broadcaster will be able to receive material under automation control, store it and pass it to the play-to-air server without any active intervention. With the combined system, the companies expect that virtually all errors can be eliminated from process of ingesting and broadcasting program material.
