Harris Strikes Multimillion Dollar Deal With Indonesia's ANTV
Harris Corp.'s Broadcast Communications Division recently announced that PT Marlin Trisiana, a Jakarta, Indonesia broadcast systems integrator, has purchased a terrestrial television transmission system on behalf of its customer, ANTV, an Indonesian TV network.
The system will provide off-air programming delivery to all in Indonesia and is valued at $6.9 million. The equipment is slated to be delivered this month, and the service is scheduled to be launched in late October.
Harris is providing analog transmitters, spare parts and turnkey commissioning services for the transmission system. PT Marlin Trisiana will deliver the equipment; provide civil works and tower and antenna systems.
"Harris is honored to have been chosen for this important effort, and we would also like to extend our congratulations to PT Marlin Trisiana for its contributions throughout the course of this key project," said Dale Mowry, vice president and general manager of the Harris Broadcast Division's Television Broadcast Systems unit.
Two Harris 120 kW Sigma transmitters will be installed in Jakarta and Surabuya. Eight 20 kW transmitters and nine 5 kW units will be installed in other parts of Indonesia to complete the system.
