HDFest recently presented its 2004 "Deffie" Awards during the finale of the NYC festival.
The awards ceremony of the indie film festival--sponsored in part by Discreet and Tape Online--took place at the Tribeca Green Screen Theatre. Discreet presented the award for Best Visual/Special Effects to the film "Just Like You Imagined."
Additionally, top awards were given to the makers of the HD feature film, "Particles of Truth," the animated HD short, "Rex Steele, Nazi Smasher" and the HD documentary feature, "Water's Journey: The Hidden Rivers of Florida."
Screenings of HDFest films took place in worldwide locations including Sydney, London and Los Angeles. Industry experts and HD filmmakers took part in sixteen panel discussions with more than 80 panelists.
HDFest has been screening and rewarding HD projects--created in HD only--since its first festival in 2000.
