Hewlett-Packard CEO Fiorina to deliver NAB keynote; HP’s Robison to address session
Carly Fiorina, chairman and chief executive officer of Hewlett-Packard, will deliver the All-Industry Opening keynote address at NAB2004, and the company’s chief strategy and technology officer Shane Robison will speak at the “New Media Visions for the Future” super session, April 19.
Fiorina joined HP in July 1999 and has focused the company on applying technology in meaningful ways for businesses and consumers. Fiorina led the HP merger with Compaq, which was completed in May 2002.
HP is at the center of the major changes taking place in digital entertainment. The company provides technology and services that are changing how content is created, distributed, managed and enjoyed by consumers. The future of television and film will be made not by those who resist change, but by those who embrace it, said Fiorina.
Building on this theme, HP’s Robison will discuss opportunities created in a digital, mobile and virtual world where power is in the hands of people. Robison is expected to discuss how innovations in digital technologies will create new opportunities and the impact of those innovations on business, and the models used in the broadcast and entertainment industries as entertainment and IT converge.
Robison is responsible for shaping HP’s overall business and technology strategy and for leading the company’s business development efforts, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and partnerships.
