HME Connects at the MTV VMAs
HME supplied wireless intercom systems for the primary stage managers at all three locations being used at Paramount Studios in Hollywood during the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.
There were 12 HME PRO850 base stations being used with 48 people on headsets. With the PRO850's flexible features, the base stations were able to be linked to share common circuits, allowing MTV's stage management team to stay in contact with each other throughout the show.
"We are proud to supply a system that is versatile for any and every occasion, no matter the obstacles," stated John Arenas, general manager of ATK Versacom.
The VMAs were held at three major locations—including the B-Tank, the back lot also known as New York Street, and Stage 16, which altogether spanned about five acres. The VMAs were held on Sept. 7.
