House subcommittee approves $430 million for public broadcasting

published A House Appropriations Subcommittee has increased the funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) by $10 million — to $430 million total for fiscal year 2011.
For the fiscal year 2009, CPB would also get $40 million for the digital television transition and $27 million for public radio interconnection. This is in addition to another $24 million for the “Ready To Learn” project backed by the U.S. Department of Education.
The House legislation, along with a Senate version, is expected to be marked up in the full committees this week.
