HP’s Carly Fiorina to keynote NAB
Carly Fiorina, chairman and chief executive officer of Hewlett-Packard, will deliver the All-Industry Opening keynote address at NAB2004 in Las Vegas on Monday, April 19. That afternoon, Shane Robison, HP’s chief strategy and technology officer, will address attendees at the NAB2004 Super Session, “New Media Visions for the Future.”
Fiorina, who joined HP in July 1999, led HP’s May 2002 merger with Compaq, making HP the world’s largest consumer IT company, and the world’s second largest enterprise IT company.
HP is at the center of the major changes taking place in digital entertainment, providing technology and services that are helping change the way content is created, distributed, managed and enjoyed by consumers. Fiorina has stated that the future of television and film will be made not by those who resist change, but by those who embrace it.
Building on this theme, HP’s Shane Robison will discuss opportunities that are being created in a world where everything is becoming digital, mobile and virtual, putting enormous amounts of power in people’s hands. Robison believes innovations in digital technologies will create new opportunities and have a profound impact on the business models in the broadcast and entertainment industries as entertainment and IT converge.
Robison is responsible for shaping HP’s overall business and technology strategy and for leading the company’s business development efforts, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and partnerships.
