The Peter Wayne Award, an award recognizing leadership in technical design and innovation, was awarded to Snell & Wilcox for its MXF Express and MXF Desktop products. The award was presented by the International Association of Broadcasting Manufactuers (IABM).
MXF Express is a comprehensive set of software developer tools designed to help broadcasters and equipment vendors ensure interoperability among file-sharing products and systems through the MXF file format. MXF Desktop is a software-based MXF file player that brings MXF compatibility to any Windows PC desktop.
Also nominated to receive Recognition of Excellence awards were Abakus Scientific for its anamorphic lens assembly and Thomson for the LDK6200HD Super Slo-Mo camera system. These awards acknowledge the diversity of products spanning a wide spectrum of applications including both software and hardware solutions.
