IBC awards recognized excellence
IBC once again provided a forum to recognize industry leaders, technology and projects with its IBC awards ceremony.
The IBC2008 International Honor for Excellence was awarded to Oscar nominee and multiple award-winner Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation SKG. Katzenberg’s participation in the IBC program included the first-ever transatlantic telecast in HD 3-D. While Katzenberg was shot in stereoscopic 3-D in Los Angeles, an audience assembled in the IBC Big Screen Auditorium at the RAI in Amsterdam watched live via satellite.
“Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert in 3D” took the Judge’s Prize. This year’s Special Award was presented for the first international transmission of super hi-vision content. IBC recognized Dr. Keiichi Kubota, director general of the Science & Technical Research Laboratories of NHK, for the super hi-vision content transmission.
