IBC2009: Broadcast Pix to Demo Native 3G 1080p System
Broadcast Pix 3G Switcher Frame
Broadcast Pix says it will show its new 3G Switcher Frame unit — a 3Gbps 1080p upgrade for its Slate line of live video production systems — during IBC2009, Sept. 11-15 at the RAI Center in Amsterdam.
This most recent upgrade is designed to provide simultaneous multi-definition SDI I/O for 1080p, 1080i and 720p, as well as SD. It creates a 3G 1080p integrated production system — including switcher, multi-view, 100-hour clip store, graphics stores, character generator and workflow software (dubbed "Fluent").
With twice the data rate of 1080i (3Gbps compared to 1.5Gbps) the firm's new 3G Switcher Frame enhances video quality, and Broadcast Pix said its latest upgrade helps future-proof its own systems with emerging 1080p already found in HD sets, routers, monitors, computers, projectors, and digital still cameras.
The new 3G upgrade is a separate frame designed to simplify wiring, increase the amount of I/O, and enhance robustness. The frame accepts up to 20 SDI inputs, plus another 16 video/key inputs of clips and graphics which are carried from a Broadcast Pix workstation to the frame over a single bus cable.
Broadcast Pix will be at Stand 7.A15.
