IBC2009: Softel to Demo vFlex HD Inserter
Softel plans to demonstrate all the various features of its vFlex HD — a single-unit, multi-purpose ancillary data processing system for HD at IBC2009 in September in Amsterdam.
The new unit provides basically the same feature set as the original analog/SD vFlex, although the HD enhancement offers a platform for VBI and VANC data-processing for SD/HD-SDI, as well as graphics insertion.
Softel, headquartered in Punta Gorda, Fla., said vFlex is its next-gen SDI inserter that will fully support the insertion of subtitles, teletext, wide-screen signaling and other ancillary data into the transport stream.
The vFlex also provides for opt cue encoding/decoding and bridging, while combining data processing with CG and graphic keying — allowing the insertion of clocks, bugs and other graphics into transmitted video.
