IBM, Cisco Team Up For Digital Media Delivery

IBM will debut a digital media system that allows organizations in any industry to deliver rich media including streaming video to different locations, at Supercomm 2003 in Atlanta, June 1-5.

IBM, Cisco Systems and other technology partners, including Media Publisher, plan to offer the Digital Media Delivery Solution (DMDS). The system is part of IBM's Digital Media Center, which was shown at NAB2003, and includes content delivery networks, content management and commerce. It provides store, search, view, collaborate, purchase, download, delivery and VOD capabilities.

IBM says it designed DMDS to be an affordable entry point for service providers to offer streaming and rich media to communicate and collaborate and eliminate the need for multiple content delivery networks, among other things.
