IFA: Amimon to Present Wireless HD Chipset
Amimon said this week it has devised a wireless high-definition interface (WHDI) chipset that allows uncompressed streaming of HD video/audio between various devices.
The chipset (models AMN2110 and AMN2210) can be embedded into an array of products such as LCD and plasma HD units, multimedia projectors, A/V receivers, HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc players, set-top boxes, PCs, and other CE devices for achieving uncompressed wireless HD streaming.
Amimon said WHDI is designed to offer wireless HD video connectivity among devices up to 100 feet (including through walls and other partitions), while maintaining quality without latency.
Some applications using Amimon’s WHDI technology will be on display at the IFA Consumer Electronics show in Berlin starting Aug. 31. Amimon is predicting a wide variety of WHDI-based products will become available globally by 2008.
