iN DEMAND to Carry NBA HD, Pay Per View Events
Pay per view provider iN DEMAND plans to transmit HD and SD versions of NBA TV, the National Basketball Association's 24-hour cable network to cable and satellite systems carrying the network. iN DEMAND will also carry what it termed "classic" NBA programs such as the 2003 NBA All-Star game, as well as footage from the NBA's slam dunk and three-point play competitions, in hi-def on its own HD network, INHD.
iN DEMAND and the NBA will also collaborate to expand HD coverage of NBA LEAGUE PASS, the NBA's subscription game package that iN DEMAND delivers to digital cable customers.
On Sept. 29, NBA TV announced that it had secured carriage agreements with Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications and Cablevision, making it available in more than 40 million households in 30 countries.
