India’s News X to launch with OCTOPUS-based news workflow
Indian media company INX Media is launching News X, a 24-hour English-language news channel, with an OCTOPUS newsroom-based workflow.
News X will operate from Mumbai and Noida, India, with about 100 journalists. OCTOPUS users will filter and browse stories coming in as wires and use the SMS option to communicate with their colleagues in the field. An integrated messaging system allows instant communication among users.
Reporters will use the OCTOPUS Field Reporter mobile computer solution to post news from the field securely to headquarters. CG, editing and proxy browsing are integrated via MOS and are available directly on newsroom desktops. Rundown templates are used to build and manage schedules. The system also supports precisely defined user rights to bring order into the news production processes.
Once ready for air, rundowns will be dynamically published to Aveco Astra in Noida and VectorBox in Mumbai. Tight integration between OCTOPUS and surrounding systems makes last-minute changes immediately reflected in Aveco’s playout, Vizrt’s graphics playlist and on the Autoscript teleprompters in the studio.
