Industry Mourns Death of Robert Hammett

published Broadcast industry pioneer Robert Hammett has passed away at the age of 82.
After receiving a Masters in electrical engineering at Stanford in 1943, Hammett conducted radio research at Harvard Labs and afterward began his career with A. Earl Cullem in Dallas.
In 1952, Hammett started Hammett and Edison Consulting in San Francisco. He and his partner, Ed Edison, received the 1992 NAB Engineering Achievements award. Hammett retired in 1988, and the consulting firm is now managed by his son.
