International Sports Television Forum To Be Held in Beijing, China
The CASBAA/CITVC Sports Television Forum 2006 will be held in Beijing, China, on Thursday August 24 2006 at the Shangri-La hotel. The conference, hosted by the China State Administration of Radio, Film & Television, is expected to draw 400 international executive-level officials and china-based TV professionals.
The event is organized by the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) and China International Television Corporation (CITVC), the commercial arm of the China state broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV), in association with CCTV Sports Promotion (CCTVSP) and supported by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG). Highlights will be televised nationwide by CCTV-5.
The Forum was developed as an integral part of the Central Government’s strategy of keeping the international community up to date on the growth of China’s sports television industry. Sessions include sports television and economic development, sports branding and sponsorship for China, and new media opportunities and lessons learned from the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics and the 2006 World Cup.
Keynote speeches will be delivered by Mr Ma Guoli, COO of the Beijing Olympic Broadcasting (BOB), Mr Jiang Xiao Yu, EVP of BOCOG, Mr Jiang He Ping, CEO of CCTV-5 and Mr Sun Yu Sheng, VP of CCTV. Other speeches will be given by CEOs and representatives from companies and organizations in Asia, the Middle East, North America and Europe. Additional attendees and speakers hail from sporting events and entertainment production companies, and the wireless, broadband and HDTV sectors.
