Jaguars production team relies on Ikegami HD cameras

The Jacksonville Jaguars video production team is using Ikegami portable cameras to bring its fans even closer to the on-field action at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.

The equipment includes five HL-65W full-digital broadcasting cameras and a tapeless DNS-33W Editcam3 for nonlinear acquisition.

Each of the Ikegami HL-65s is deployed throughout the 67,164-seat stadium to deliver live gameday coverage of the Jaguars and their fans, transmitting images to dual 60ft by 156ft Jumbotron scoreboards.

The Jaguars’ recent upgrade to an all-digital video production plant has also benefited from the integration of Ikegami’s tapeless DNS-33W Editcam3 camcorder, which improves efficiency in acquisition and editing.

The lightweight and ergonomic 14-bit full-digital Ikegami HL-65W is switchable between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios and offers advanced digital signal processing ICs that digitize its video signal with 14-bit A/D conversion and up to 38-bit internal processing.

Camera settings can be stored on an SD memory card, which greatly simplifies setup. In addition, newly developed AIT (Advanced Interline Transfer) CCDs offer high sensitivity of f11 and a very low smear level of -135dB.

Now in its third-generation, the Ikegami DNS-33W Editcam3 portable camcorder is a 520,000-pixel AIT CCD camcorder that features retroloop and timelapse recording. Editcam3 records to either its hard drive field pack or to solid-state RAMPak media.
