JVC Adds Nucomm and BMS to HD Transmission Package
JVC recently added microwave transmission equipment makers Nucomm and Broadcast Microwave Systems (BMS) to its HD Product line. JVC plans to use its partnership to market its new DM-JV600 encoder launched at NAB2004.
"The addition of BMS and Nucomm and to our HD Products program enables JVC to start providing cost-effective HDTV encoding solutions to broadcasters interested in utilizing HDTV microwave remotes for ENG/EFP operations," said Lawrence Librach, assistant vice president Business Development Broadcast and Entertainment for JVC.
Broadcasters can perform live remote HD broadcasts with the DM-JV600 encoder as part of Nucomm's or BMS' microwave transmission technology.
Incorporating MPEG-2 encoding technologies, the DM-JV600 is a multi-format 4:2:0/4:2:2 HDTV encoder with Dolby audio pass-through that is compatible with multiple microwave radio systems - both analog and digital.
The DM-JV600 encoder accepts SMPTE-292M HD-SDI signals and encodes them into HD MPEG-2 format and provides a transport stream through its 2 DVB-ASI interfaces.
"Together with JVC, BMS intends to lead the way in meeting the imminent demand for high quality HD processing and broadcast systems," said Graham Bunney, president and general manager of Poway, Calif.-based BMS.
