JVC debuts CMOS-equipped HD camera
At its IBC exhibit stand, JVC introduced a new CMOS-equipped high-definition camera called the KH-F870. It offers 1080i performance using three 2/3-inch 2.1 megapixel ProCam HD CMOS image sensors, developed by Rockwell Scientific.
The camera outputs 1920x1080/59.94i image data and includes two SMPTE 292M HD-SDI outputs. It has three Rockwell image sensors with 1936 x 1086 image capture area, 12-bit processing and high data range (75 MH at full HD resolution), in addition to low- power consumption (approximately 200mW or about 20 percent of a comparable CCD).
The company said that with the camera’s compact design and flexible 2/3-inch bayonet-style lens mount, it can be used in a variety of applications where unmanned cameras play an important role.
