JVC introduces handheld professional HD camcorder to Europe
JVC has unveiled the world's first professional hand-held camcorder with complete HD recording capabilities: the JY-HD10E.
The JY-HD10E is a single CCD (1.18-million-pixel, 16:9) professional camcorder offering the ability to record in various resolution modes.
Producers on a limited budget, in such industries as events, education, broadcast, medical, corporate communications, advertising, and government, can now produce in HD without having to invest significantly in new equipment.
This single CCD (1.18-million-pixel, 16:9) professional camcorder offers the ability to record in various resolution modes. It records at HD resolution 720p and will output at both 720p and up-converted 1080i signals.
Recording is performed using native 16:9 from the CCD with an MPEG-2 HD compression algorithm (GOP-6) directly on to standard size Mini-DV cassettes, which is the same recording method in standard definition mode. The camcorder also supports standard mode recording with 4:3 DV compression using MPEG-2 at 480/60p or 480/60i.
