JVC Picks ATI DTV Chips for HDTV Chip Sets
JVC will use ATI's ATSC VSB receiver chips in JVC HDTV models AV-56WP94, PD-50X795 and HD-61Z585. In addition to the receiver chips, the JVC HDTVs will use ATI's CARD (software and reference platform for CableCARD applications) and ATI's Xilleon 226 display processor and MPEG decoder/transport demultiplexer.
"Industry leaders, such as JVC, can take advantage of our mature CARD software technology to deliver flexible HD solutions," said ATI's Director of Marketing Daniel Eiref. "Together our Xilleon, demodulation and CARD technologies offer 'one-stop-shopping' for HDTV manufacturers."
"ATI 's latest technology brings JVC tremendous value and ensures that our DTV products will be successful in the market. ATI 's CARD software support has been outstanding and we look forward to continuing this relationship," said Dr. Kazuyuki Ebihara, General Manager of JVC's Digital TV Department of Technology Development Division.
