KLCS-TV selects Leitch for transition to digital
PBS member station KLCS-TV has selected a full complement of Leitch products for its transition to an SDI serial digital infrastructure. All of the gear will be under the control of Leitch's CCS Pilot and CCS Navigator software applications.
KLCS began transmitting a digital television signal in addition to its current analog signal in April 2003, enabling such services as datacasting/near video on demand, multichannel broadcasts and high-definition television (HDTV). The station broadcasts on analog channel 58 and digital channel 41 to more than 16 million viewers throughout Southern California.
For the new digital infrastructure project, KLCS-TV selected several Leitch products including:
- Leitch's NEO SuiteView multi-source display processor;
- Integrator GOLD SDI router;
- Opus master control switcher;
- A variety of Leitch digital video equipment, including the DPS-575AV digital processing synchronizer, 6800+ video and audio conversion system, 880 series stereo audio DAs, digital clocks and the NEO modular infrastructure platform.
KLCS-TV/DT -- The Education Station -- is a noncommercial educational television station licensed to the Los Angeles Unified School District and is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service.
