KMOV turns to Chyron graphics as part of its local HD news transition
KMOV, the Belo-owned CBS affiliate in St. Louis, has installed a full complement of Chyron equipment as an integral part of the station’s HD local news transition.
The station has added two HD/SD-switchable HyperX2 graphics systems; Channel Box, Chyron’s HD/SD-switchable channel branding and automated promo system; a CAMIO news graphic management solution; and iSQ, Chyron’s remote monitoring and playout application.
The two HyperX2 graphics systems, which are installed in KMOV’s studio control room, are being used to generate all of the station’s HD graphics for its local news programs, including lower-thirds, full screen, over the shoulder, banners and tickers. The Channel Box will be used for downstream graphics on the station’s HD channel. The system will provide channel branding, IDs, schools closings and severe weather information.
