Judging from the plot of the latest Nicolas Cage title, he probably already knew this well in advance — but “Knowing” kicked off its first week in DVD and Blu-ray release by leading the Top 10 (in both disc categories).
The Dakota Fanning vehicle “Push” shoved its way into the runner-up position on the Blu-ray chart, while old-timer “Ghostbusters” (the one and only original) improved on its no. 10 slot of the previous week by climbing to no. 6 — and apparently scaring “Friday the 13th” down to no. 10.
The Top 10 Blu-ray titles sold the week ending July 11, according to Rentrak:
- “Knowing” (Summit)
- “Push” (Summit)
- “The Unborn” (Universal)
- “Gran Torino” (Warner Bro.)
- “Taken” (20th Century Fox)
- “Ghostbusters” (Sony Pictures)
- “12 Rounds” (20th Century Fox)
- “The Dark Knight” (Warner Bro.)
- “Transformers” (Paramount)
- “Friday the 13th” 2009 (Warner Bro.)
