Kramer intros D/A format converter
Kramer Electronics FC-7402 multi-standard digital-to-analog converter
Kramer Electronics has introduced the FC-7402 multi-standard digital-to-analog converter.
The FC-7402 is a 10-bit converter designed to accept an SDI (4:2:2 serial digital video) input, provide a re-clocked and equalized SDI output, and convert the original signal to analog outputs in the four common signal formats: composite video, S-video (YC), RGsB, or Y, R-Y, B-Y. Full ProcAmp control of the video image is also available via the front panel with seven-segment display, and via RS-232.
In both cases there is the option of storing settings in non-volatile memory. The FC-7402 also has an internal 75 percent color bar generator, with timing based on the SDI input.
The FC-7402 encodes 525 line signals to NTSC 3.58 or NTSC 4.43, and 625 lines to PAL-B, D, G, H, I or Combination PAL-N. When encoding NTSC, the FC-7402 can be programmed with or without a 7.5 IRE setup (pedestal).
