KRON 4 Taps Canopus for Editing Workflow
San Francisco broadcaster KRON4 produces more than eight hours of news each day with the aid of Canopus EDIUS Pro 3 video editing software.
EDIUS helps the independent station produce content quickly by interfacing directly to BitCentral's Precis play-to-air system to create a tapeless ingest, edit and playback solution. KRON shoots the news with Panasonic DVCPRO P2 and Sony HVRZ1U camcorders. EDIUS Pro 3 supports mixed format, real-time editing of a range of DV and HD file types, including the Panasonic P2 MXF format, which gives editors direct access to footage from the Panasonic P2 card.
EDUIS Pro 3 provides native editing and real-time processing of uncompressed SD, HD, HDV, DV, MPEG-2 and MPEG-1 formats. Features include real-time batch capture from 1080i and 720p HDV cameras and decks, audio and color correction tools.
