KTKA-TV upgrades to Digital Broadcast MediaFire
KTKA-TV, in Topeka, KS, recently installed a Digital Broadcast MediaFire automated master control system that is able to air HD and SD content. The MediaFire system includes automation control of the station’s router, switcher and satellite system.
KTKA needed to expand its operations and Digital Broadcast provided an effective automation solution that integrates with the station’s servers and eliminates tedious processing of syndicated programming.
With Digital Broadcast’s Pathfire interface, HD and/or SD programming received via satellite into the Pathfire server is automatically transferred to the MediaFire playout server, ready to air. Syndication can be specified to be prepared with no barter, single barter or double barter. Once these rules are set in the asset management software, they will be saved to prepare subsequent syndicated programming in the same way.
