KUED-DT, KULC-DT turn to Miranda’s Kaleido-K2 monitoring solution
Miranda announced that PBS affiliates KUED-DT (channel 7) and KULC-DT (channel 9) in Salt Lake City are using its Kaleido-K2 multi-image display system for monitoring over-the-air signals.
The two channels broadcast from consolidated master control facilities at the Eccles Broadcast Center on the campus of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
Master control operations for the stations are handled from one control center, where the Kaleido-K2 allows operators to monitor both station’s streams from a single position. The signals on the stations include the usual fare of PBS shows, PBS HD signals, PBS Kids Channel and various educational programs, as well as the Annenberg/CPB channel for students and teacher certification.
Designed for mission-critical and advanced monitoring applications such as multichannel playout centers, Miranda's Kaleido-K2 is a robust 32-input, modular, multi-image display processor designed to simplify HD/SD broadcast monitoring requirements. The system provides full integration with Miranda's master control switching and infrastructure monitoring systems and features a dual-head output option, HD image quality support, and integrated multidisplay and router control by mouse.
