KWGN manages assets with Proximity asset management
With the Xenostore software, networked graphic artists, journalists and producers can manage and store media content from any standard Web browser.
Tribune’s KWGN-TV in Denver has purchased Proxmity’s Xenostore and Xenotrack media asset management software. The software enables graphic artists, journalists and producers to manage and store media content from any standard Web browser.
Xenostore provides a single media catalog for visibility to all content throughout an organization. Xenotrack tracks the order creation, queue management and review and approval of all new graphics.
The software works within KWGN’s AP/ENPS newsroom system, providing direct access to the Xenostore graphics catalog. Using the system, producers can quickly search to find previously designed graphics for re-use and place them directly in the newscast, without the help of a designer.
Prior to installing Xenomax, KWGN had developed its own command line interface to move and convert files between Chyron and Quantel. It required users to remember precise commands. With Xenostore and Xenotrack, an entire project is linked to any related artwork, and can be searched with a Google-like user interface.
In related news, Proximity announced an agreement with Chyron that will bundle Proximity’s Xenostore software with Chyron’s Duet CG systems running Lyric content creation and playout software. The new product, called Lyricstore by Proximity, will be available directly from Chyron and Chyron resellers worldwide.
