KWSB-TV fined for violating children TV rules
By TVTechnology
published The FCC continued its aggressive enforcement of children’s TV rules by fining KWSB-TV of San Diego $12,000 for airing three program-length commercials.
The station allowed a quick glimpse of a character — in this case one from Pokemon — in an advertisement that aired in a Pokemon show. That made the entire show an ad, under FCC rules. Another displayed an image of a Nintendo GameBoy E-Reader in a Pokemon program.
The station volunteered the information when filing for its license-renewal application in August 2006.
