Las Vegas makes switch to digital 2GHz BAS channels

published In mid-December, 2GHz Broadcast Auxiliary Service (BAS) licensees in Las Vegas successfully completed the transition of their BAS facilities from the 1990MHz to 2025MHz spectrum band.
For two years, Sprint Nextel and Las Vegas broadcasters have worked with equipment vendors, integrators and contractors to design, build and install new BAS equipment. With the equipment in place, Sprint Nextel worked with the broadcasters to coordinate the switch over to the new digital 12MHz-wide channel equipment.
Las Vegas is the eighth market to complete the relocation. Seven stations were involved in the transition in Las Vegas.
