Leitch enhances server tools at NAB
Leitch will demonstrate an enhanced newsroom workflow through VRNewsNet, its integrated digital newsroom solution. This includes ingest, editing, browsing and multichannel rundown, along with integration to the leading newsroom computer systems.
At NAB, Leitch introduces a new server that adds HDTV to the extensive list of available formats stored and managed in the VRnet server platform. The new server outputs MPEG-2 Main Profile at High Level and includes a high performance ASI module with transport stream processing and multiplexing capabilities.
Leitch has also introduced two new modules for VRnet: VRTX222, a bidirectional codec that provides a major reduction in the cost of transmission servers; and VRIMX222, a bidirectional codec that adds IMX functionality to the VR server line.
For increased productivity and creativity, new tools are also available in NEWSFlash and BrowseCutter. Leitch is also compliant with MXF, the Media Exchange Format, allowing seamless integration with other MXF-compliant systems. The MOS Rundown Manager has been enhanced to allow simultaneous play of four channels.
