Liberty Corp. Purchases Snell & Wilcox Gear
Liberty Corp. has purchased a range of Snell & Wilcox IQ Modular infrastructure products and HD5200 upconverters for its U.S. TV stations. The equipment is currently operating in 11 of Liberty's 15 stations, with plans for the remaining four to switch to digital in the next several months.
The IQ Modular systems are housed in 3 RU enclosure rack frames and are installed in single-rack DTV systems designed for each station. Audio and video synchronization is maintained during the video decode and upconversion process by automated tracking delays. After the signal passes through the IQ Modular System, it is sent to the HD5200 for upconversion and then passes to the HD master control switcher. The IQ Modular enclosures and HD5200's are networked with Snell & Wilcox's RollCall Infrastructure Management system and managed from computer stations for device control and monitoring of the signal flow.
Liberty stations include eight NBC affiliates, five ABC affiliates and two CBS affiliates.
