At NAB2007, Link Research will show the L1500, its next-generation wireless camera platform designed to replace the company's existing range of 2GHz, 3.5GHz and 7GHz wireless camera systems.
The L1500 base unit is an SD wireless camera transmitter with a keypad and display similar to Link's previous wireless camera systems. A software upgrade enables HD operation.
There is a choice of user-exchangeable RF modules, so customers can select the correct one for their country and application and can swap the RF module if their operating frequencies should change. Camera control is offered as a separate, optional module.
Link Research said it designed the L1500 to suit broadcast equipment rental companies and broadcasters who needed to operate their equipment in many different countries and situations.
At NAB, Link Research (booth C2907) will reveal the prices for the L1500 and associated modules. The first units are expected to ship this June.
