Lopez, Hogan, Hand, Cummis elected as national SBE officers
Vincent Lopez, director of engineering at Sinclair Broadcast Group-owned WSYT-TV and WNYS-TV in Syracuse, NY, has been elected president of the Society of Broadcast Engineers.
The SBE announced Lopez’s election along with the other winners of its election of national officers. They include:
• Ralph Hogan, director of engineering, KJZZ-FM/KBAQ-FM in Tempe, AZ, as vice president.
• Ted Hand, chief engineer, WSOC-TV, WAXN-TV in Charlotte, NC, as secretary.
• Andrea Cummis, consultant and project manager, Media Project Partners, in Roseland, NJ, as treasurer.
Those elected to two-year terms on the Board of Directors include:
• Mark Heller, president, general manager, and chief engineer, WTRW/WGBW Radio Station in Two Rivers, WI.

• James Leifer, director of engineering and IT, Clear Channel Communications South Florida, in West Palm Beach, FL.

• Christopher Scherer, editor, Radio magazine, Overland Park, KS.
• Joe Snelson, director of engineering, Meredith Broadcasting Group, in Henderson, NV.
