Study: Most Starz On Demand Customers Ditch Video Stores
Seventy percent of Starz On Demand users have stopped visiting video stores to get movies, according to a recent study released by Starz Entertainment Group. The study also shows that 76 percent of users are more satisfied with their cable company because of the Starz On Demand service.
The study shows that 72 percent of users are renting fewer DVDs and 60 percent are buying fewer DVDs. Almost all respondents said that the Starz On Demand service was easy to use and 81 percent said that were very satisfied with On Demand.
The Starz Satisfaction Tracker was conducted among 488 current Starz subscribers, aged 18 to 64, with the same digital cable service in 10 major markets from Sept. 26 to Oct. 5, 2005.
Starz provides approximately 181 million pay units to customers in the United States. SEG offerings include the Starz Encore Movie Pack with 13 digital movie channels and more than 750 movies per month, Starz HDTV, Starz On Demand and Starz Ticket, an on-demand premium Internet movie subscription service available on the broadband platform.
