Mobile production company Lyon Video has deployed Shotoku tripods for its latest HD truck, MU-10. The company said that seven model TT-17 tripods were delivered to Lyon Video’s Columbus, OH, headquarters in early March in addition to another seven that were received in late 2008.
Lyon Video chose the TT-17s because the company needed camera support equipment that is sturdy enough to withstand daily use on the road. They also are flexible, compact and lightweight enough to be stored and shipped easily; intuitive enough to be operated easily by different crews in each location; and available at a competitive price.
Shotoku’s TT-17 is a heavy-duty tripod built with a single-coaxial tube structure and a special rust-proof material in the inner tube for minimum weight and maximum rigidity. They also feature round chrome legs, instead of square, for additional strength.
Lyon Video now operates 14 SD and HD trucks for all types of sports production. The company, established in 1985, provides a full complement of production and post-production services. Clients include ESPN, Sports Regional Networks, SPEED Channel, “Antiques Road Show,” Concom, the NBA, MLB, the Professional Bowlers Tour and MLS.
