Euphonix is posting some recent business successes with the sale of 10 System 5 digital film and post consoles for sound use. The system has accumulated some positive publicity as the console used at Todd/Soundelux, which won the Best Sound Oscar for its work on "Black Hawk Down."
Other Euphonix customers included The Film Unit, based in New Zealand, which used at System 5-F film console to mix "Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring." The Film Unit is expanding its capabilities with an order for two more System 5s.
Toronto-based Deluxe has taken delivery of two more System 5 consoles, bringing its total to five. The International Recording Corporation in Los Angeles has one, as does Sound Track in New, which mixes sound for HBO's "Sex and the City." Technicolor Creative Services in Glendale, Calif. bought a second console, which was used for Steven Spielberg's upcoming sci-fi miniseries, "Taken." A Belgian and Los Angeles studio round out the list of recent customers.
