Malaysia’s NTV7 goes live with automation solution

Malaysian broadcaster NTV7 (Natseven TV Sdn Bhd) has gone live with an OmniBus Colossus automation system.

Launched in 1998 as Malaysia's first digital terrestrial channel and now part of the Media Prima group, NTV7 shares its OmniBus automation infrastructure with Media Prima's other stations, TV3, 8TV and TV9, allowing the company to mix and match storage and share content across multiple servers, stations and users.

Media Prima's other channels have long used OmniBus Columbus automation systems. TV3, 8TV and TV9 base their news automation upon the same core infrastructure. With NTV7's news bulletins soon to join them, all of Malaysia's TV news programs, including those of Malaysia's state broadcaster RTM, will be automated by OmniBus.

OmniBus Colossus integrates best-of-breed systems under transparent automation control and uses the backbone of OmniBus device drivers that control traditional broadcast equipment. The system incorporates schedule management, event building and transitions, timeline monitoring, live-event management and cache management.
