Manhattan Transfer Miami launches DI, HD services with Spirit HD
Manhattan Transfer Miami (MTM) has received a new Grass Valley Spirit HD Telecine from Thomson to support its launch this month of a full range of DI and HD services for its advertising agency clients. It’s the first Spirit HD system sold in the southeast United States.
MTM has also entered into a co-marketing and joint business partnership with Continental Film & Digital Labs (CFL) in Miami, which operates a full-service 16mm, 35mm and 70mm film laboratory and SD video transfer facility. The deal will let CFL offer HD and SD facilities to its clients.
Under terms of the agreement, Continental’s colorists will have access to the Spirit as well as a full range of post services performed daily. Additionally, MTM and staff will be able to leverage Continental’s film processing resources and technology, which makes both facilities a one-stop shop for their respective clients.
By purchasing the Spirit HD system, MTM expects to see increased business from clients looking to post on the Spirit system who have gone elsewhere before. As one of the first projects to use the Spirit HD system, CFL will transfer HD footage of the latest NASA shuttle launch for critical analysis.
