Martin to lead IBC Partnership Board
The IBC Partnership Board has appointed Mike Martin as its chairman, effective Oct. 1. Martin will succeed Michael Bunce, who will step down after nine years in the position.
Martin’s career spans 30 years in the industry as sales director of the Vinten Group, until his retirement in 2001, and subsequently within the IBC as chairman of the IBC Executive Management Committee. Martin also represented the International Association of Broadcast Manufacturers (IABM) on the IBC Board from 2000 to 2006.
The IBC Partnership Board consists of representatives of the six organizations sponsoring the IBC, including IABM, IET (formerly IEE), IEEE, RTS, SCTE and SMPTE. Each partner has a board member. The board oversees the policy, budget and general direction of the IBC.
Martin’s experience and contacts allow him to understand what the industry needs, which will be important as the IBC works to deliver a “vibrant sustainable and successful event,” said IBC COO Michael Crimp.
