Matrox’s new PCI graphics card supports Apple’s Cinema HD display
Matrox Graphics introduced its new Parhelia DL256 PCI graphics card, which supports high-resolution, dual-link monitors under Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP systems.
Combined with the 30in Apple Cinema HD Display, the card provides output at resolutions up to 2560x1600. The graphics card also is compatible with the dual-link DVI standard for compatibility with high-resolution, digital monitors.
The 64-bit, 66MHz, PCI graphics card is compatible with all 32-bit and 64-bit PCI slots and all PCI-X slots.
The card also includes 256MB of graphics memory; support for a second (analog) monitor at resolutions up to 2048x1536; multi-card 2-D and 3-D OpenGL acceleration; hardware quad-buffered stereo and TV output on the secondary connector through a TV output adapter. Display drivers for the Linux and Sun Solaris x86 operating systems are available as upgrades.
