Media 100 now supports Sony XDCAM footage
Media 100, a manufacturer of video editing systems, has announced a new software release that offers menu-level integration with Sony’s XDCAM. Video in Sony’s format is automatically transcoded to any supported format including Media 100 HD or Apple’s ProRes 422 codec and appears in Media 100 bins, ready for editing in Media 100.
Sony’s XDCAM Transfer software can log and import from Sony XDCAM media including the new SxS card format.
The new Media 100, Version 12.7 software, also offers an improvement to the system’s HDV Acquire function. Operators may now optionally defer the transcoding process on systems with lower processing bandwidth, allowing for a seamless workflow.
Users of computers such as Apple’s MacBook Pro and G5 desktop systems can now capture HDV through the computer’s built-in FireWire port.
Media 100, version 12.7, is available immediately. Customers holding valid Media 100 Platinum Software Agreements receive version 12.7 free of charge.
