Advanced media systems provider Media 100 will demonstrate a new Mac OS X-based HD/SD nonlinear editing system at NAB2003. The system, dubbed Media 100 iHD, incorporates newly-developed HDX Technology (HDX) that features 10-bit uncompressed HD and SD I/O and real-time, broadcast-quality format conversion between any HD and SD formats.
With HDX, Media 100 iHD supports resolution independent mixing and matching of HD and SD source material in the same timeline plus 10-bit uncompressed native HD editing.
The Media 100i software supports Apple’s Mac OS X operating system and Aqua user interface, and gives Media 100iHD many powerful editorial, content design, and third-party interoperability functions, such as:
- DirectEdit technology providing access to most system functions directly and easily from the timeline;
- InstantMedia integration for native media compatibility with any QuickTime application
- Adobe After Effects integration enabling Media 100 i timeline elements to be exported as separate After Effects layers for independent manipulation
- Native-YUV color correction
- Advanced sound design support for real-time audio EQ, reverb and dynamics processing on up to 24 tracks of audio
- Direct timeline access to advanced Boris character generation and video effects processing
