The FCC Media Bureau Aug. 6 extended the time for filing comments and reply comments related to the commission’s Third DTV Periodic Notice of Proposed Rulemaking adopted April 25.
The new deadline for filing comments was extended to Aug. 15 with reply comments due Aug. 30. Comments on the notice initially were due Aug. 8, and reply comments were due Aug. 23.
In granting the extension, the Media Bureau was responding to an Aug. 3 request from the Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers (AFCEE), which told the commission it needed more time to review the technical details of the Third DTV Period NPRM. Although commission policy is not to grant such extensions in rulemaking proceedings, the Media Bureau said pushing back the deadlines was “warranted to facilitate informed comments.”
