Media Bureau seeks more information to complete cable report

The FCC Media Bureau last week said it will require select cable operators to complete a supplemental questionnaire by Sept. 29 for its annual statistical report on average rates for basic cable TV service, cable programming and equipment.

1. The questionnaire is intended to provide the bureau with information beyond that provided in an earlier questionnaire. The latest inquiry seeks to find out if analog only, digital only or a combination is provided. It also wants more information on the types of converters subscribers use.
2. Cable operators selected to complete the supplemental questionnaire are the same as those randomly selected earlier this year to complete the earlier 2007/2008 survey questionnaire.
