Mediacom Communications Corp. will deploy nCube's n4x video server to deliver video-on-demand (VOD) services to its Southern Division systems in Florida and Georgia, representing approximately one-third of Mediacom's total VOD-enabled subscribers. The server will use nCube's . nAble On-Demand Management System, a set of VOD business management and technical operations tools that features open software architecture and includes real-time and historical intelligence reports. The n4x video server stores and delivers 200,000 hours of video content.
nCube's President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Pohl said the company hopes that by "rolling out VOD in smaller towns and cities across the country," operators are provided with a "competitive bullet against DBS."
